Six Word Memoir Collage

My six-word memoir is, “Lost and alone. Is there hope?” This six-word memoir represents the tragedies that the lost boy’s have been through. This is reflected in my collage by showing people through images the tragedies that the lost boys have faced, but also showing them what action they can take, and how the lost boys have strived to improve their lives and leave their past behind. For example, I show that there is hope for them by putting pictures of significant achievements in their lives, like peter’s graduation. One of the creative ways I emphasized their tragedies is by putting a news article in word, and making their tragedies a bigger font. My collage is made mostly out of pictures from the Internet, news articles, magazine clipping, and drawing. Each of my pictures was carefully chosen to reflect my six-word memoir, and the journey the boys have been through. One way I show that they can change is I have pictures showing hardships faced from both Africa and America. Another example of how I show connection between images and text is that I make sure the audience understands that the lost boys were alone, by putting pictures of racism and segregation. This is one of the challenges they had to face in America. In my collage the text and images connect with each other, because all of my images reflect my six-word memoir, or other text I have put in my collage. My collage uses mostly dark colors to show the mood of the lost boy’s sufferings and journey. My collage connects with the viewer to create empathy for the Lost Boys, so that they will fell inspired to take action, instead of just feeling sorry for them. The message I’m sending through my collage is that the lost boy’s have suffered through so much, and that they can try to leave their past behind and strive for a better future.

Think Creatively

I thought creatively in my collage by thinking of a good way to make my collage, so that it reflects on the mood of the Lost Boys journey. I also used creativity in my collage by using pictures and text to reflect my thoughts of their journey, and making the audience empathize for them.

Reason Critically

I reasoned critically in many ways. One way was that I had to space and layer my pictures, so that important parts weren't covered and could be observed by the audience. I also had to use reasoniProxy-Connection: keep-alive

to space my collage so that it was not too crowded.

Communicate Effectively

I communicated to the audience the story, mood, and feeling of the lost boys journey through Africa and America. I did this through pictures and text.

Live Ethically

This collage makes the viewer aware of the suffering of the lost boys and inspires them to act. This is ethical because it's making a difference by creating awareness for everyone so that they will take action.
